Day 2 (Sarah Jean)
January 6, 2007
Since this blog is new I do feel the need to constantly update it in an attempt to make my life look interesting. Really, Shelby should be the one updating it since at this point it looks like I have a blog that I pretend to share with him. Cool.
Back to making my life look interesting. Yesterday we went to Carmel. It was lovely aside from the high wind. The weather people had all been standing outside going on and on about a storm we were having, but we don’t really take them seriously because they always claim we’re having a storm. Anyway, it was in fact windy in Carmel (Oregon Coast style) but I still wouldn’t have called it a storm.
After our windy beach trip we went downtown Santa Cruz and wandered around for a bit drinking Cider. Then we came home and I made a seaweed rice with chicken. I’ve never cooked kelp before, which is really where I was going with this whole story. It’s hard to chop because it’s so slimy, but the rice turned out to be quite tasty and I think I may live longer because of it.
